Rick and Morty are heading to the movies in a serial of stories coming following year from Oni Press which pay homage to some classic sci-fi films through the crystalline lens of Twist and Morty's well-best-known satirical, cynical sense of humor.

Kickoff abreast January 26 is Rick and Morty Presents: HeRICKtics of Rick, a one-shot co-written past Poison Ivy: Circle of Life and Death writer Amy Chu and her son Alexanders Chang, with art from Aggretsuko artist Sarah Stern, and lettering from Crank! (yes, that's the name the artist goes by).

Rick and Morty Presents: HeRICKtics of Rick takes point at one of the almost new cinematic succeeder stories, Dune, with a tale of Rick discovering a planet which He name calling Arrickis - though he and Morty are constrained to contend with the major planet's indigen inhabitants who are not welcoming of their colonization.

So in March, two to a greater extent movie parody stories will drop, starting with Rick and Morty Presents: Morty's Incline, a parody of classic sci-fi story Logan's Bunk, in which people are executed when they reach a certain age deemed excessively older to enter in society.

In Morty's Run, written by Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries writer Ivan Cohen with graphics from Marc Ellerby and Leonardo Ito and once once more with inscription by Meth!, Morty embarks along a tense safety valve run of his ain when He's sent to summer camp against his will.

The third story, also debut in March, is a four-issue limited series titled Rick and Morty: Eternity 60 minutes. Described away Oni as a "prequel" by artist Marc Ellerby, who returns from the Morty's Run indefinite-shot alongside colorist Leonardo Ito and letterer Crank! with Kim & Kim author Maggs Visaggio fetching the story's helm, Infinity Hour tackles the everyday tropes of Star Wars, indentation Rick and Morty against a Astronomical Federation in a satirical sci-fi epic.

Some the Rick and Morty Presents: Morty's Carry one-shot and Wrench and Morty: Infinity Hour are due for release on March 2.

I've been Newsarama's resident Marvel Comics expert and general comic book historian since 2011. I've besides been the on-site reporter at most major comic conventions such as Comic-Con International: San Diego, New York Comic Con, and C2E2. Outside of comic journalism, I am the artist of many weird pictures, and the guitarist of many threatening riffs. (They/Them)
